If you’ve been spending hours tearing up the beautiful asphalt of the Japan map in Forza Horizon 6, you already know how massive and detailed the world is. With so many routes winding through mountain passes and neon-lit streets, tracking down specific point-to-point races can sometimes feel like finding a needle in a haystack. One event that a lot of players are currently looking for is the Coastline Sprint. Whether you are trying to finish up your base game progression or chasing down specific reward cars, here is a practical guide on where to find this event and how to overcome a few common mapping bugs.

Pinpointing the Location

The Coastline Sprint is a Road Racing event that takes full advantage of the game's coastal roads. You will find it tucked away along the sweeping, scenic shores in the southwestern to western region of the map. It's an incredible stretch of tarmac perfect for testing high-speed grip, but if your world map is cluttered with PR stunts, dirt tracks, and street scenes, it's incredibly easy to overlook.

To easily spot it, your best bet is to open up your world map, toggle the map filters, and deselect everything except Road Racing Events. Once you isolate the map to just these asphalt races, look over to the western coast for the starting marker.

How to Unlock the Event

If you have filtered your map and the race still isn't showing up, do not panic—it just means you haven't progressed far enough to unlock it yet. To bring the Coastline Sprint out into the open, you need to keep expanding your footprint at the Horizon Festival. Focus on earning more Accolades and specifically building up your Road Racing Outpost. Clearing out earlier road circuits and sprints will eventually trigger the game to unlock this coastal route.

Festival Playlist Alert: If you are playing during a seasonal festival cycle that features the "Hot Like Summer" championship, the standard blue Road Racing marker will temporarily vanish. Instead, it gets replaced by an orange seasonal Festival Playlist marker, which can confuse players who are expecting the usual color scheme.

The "Missing Normal Event" Completion Issue

A major point of frustration in the community right now involves players trying to clear the Coastline Sprint to unlock specific reward cars, such as the Lotus Exige WTAC. Many drivers are finding that even after placing first in the race, the game refuses to tick it off in their base game progression journal.

This happens because the seasonal playlist overrides the base version. If the event is locked into a Seasonal Championship on your map, the game registers your victory for the weekly season, but not for your core progression. To bypass this and play the standard version, follow these steps:

  1. Switch over to free roam and drive directly up to the physical Coastline Sprint starting line in the game world.

  2. Press the on-screen prompt to enter the event setup menu.

  3. Look at the bottom of your menu screen before starting. You will see an option that says "Switch to normal event". Press Y if you are on an Xbox controller, or the corresponding mapped key if you are playing on PC.

  4. Complete the race in this normal mode.

Doing this forces the game to load the baseline version of the track, allowing you to permanently log your completion in your journal and successfully secure your reward progress.
