If you are diving into Forza Horizon 6, you already know that the map is packed with incredible car culture and hidden gems. Among the 15 legendary Barn Finds scattered across the landscape, the 1969 Toyota 2000GT stands out as an absolute must-have. It is a gorgeous piece of Japanese automotive history, but you cannot just drive up and grab it right from the start.
If you try to head straight to the barn without putting in the groundwork, you will just find an empty building that does not trigger any action. To actually get your hands on this classic, you need to follow a specific path in the campaign. Here is exactly how to unlock it, find it, and add it to your garage.
Step 1: Earn the Green Stamp in "Discover Japan"
Unlike previous games in the Horizon series, Forza Horizon 6 does not tie its Barn Finds to your overall festival tier level. Instead, they are directly linked to your campaign collection status.
To track your progress, open your Collection Journal from the campaign menu and take a look at the "Discover Japan" progression card. When you start out, you will hold the "Visitor" status (Level 1). Your goal is to level up to "Tourist" status (Level 2), which awards you the Green Stamp. Earning this stamp is what automatically activates the Toyota 2000GT rumor on your map (alongside the Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500).
You can earn the Experience Points needed to hit Level 2 by playing through the game naturally:
-
Completing yellow map marker story missions.
-
Running Touge and Street races.
-
Knocking out regional mascots.
-
Doing food delivery runs.
-
Buying player houses.
Step 2: Drive to the Barn Location
Once you hit Level 2 and the purple rumor circle pops up on your map, it is time to go hunting. Head over to the northern section of the Ito region.
The main landmark you are looking for is the Minka House. Once you are in the area, look toward the southeastern edge of the circular search zone. The barn is tucked away inside a small, dense patch of trees nestled right between two paths that lead down to the beach.
The easiest way to spot it is to approach from the road near the seawall. Look for a dirt trail splitting off into the woods, follow it in, and you will see the worn wooden barn doors waiting for you.
Step 3: Claim and Restore Your Classic
Driving up to the barn will trigger the classic Horizon cinematic cutscene, where your character clears away the dust to reveal the sleek lines of the 2000GT.
Once the cutscene ends, the car is officially yours, but it won't be ready to race immediately. Because it is an ultra-rare classic that has been sitting for decades, it requires extensive parts and restoration. The process takes anywhere from two to six hours of real-time gameplay to complete.
